Prof. Dr. h.c. Roland Berger
"As a child during the Second World War, I saw in my own family how political distress can cause fear and suffering, and how precious human dignity and tolerance are. That is why I founded the Roland Berger Human Dignity Award.
At the same time, I feel that I belong to a very privileged generation: I have enjoyed more than 60 years of peace and increasing prosperity. I feel a need to share this good fortune with others: I want my foundation to promote equal opportunity in education, thus broadening the societal channels that lead upward and onward, to the ultimate benefit of all members of society." (Roland Berger)
